Experience Required | - Skilful level of experience in the publishing field or successful background in a similar position with this or other cruise company (or resort). - Ability to read, write, and speak in Italian and English. Preference is given to Program-ITV Host-hostess who is able to read and write in other languages of Guests (German, Portuguese, Spanish, and French). - Documented and demonstrated work-literacy in Publisher, Word, Excel, PowerPoint. - Documented and demonstrated ability with graphic software, including Adobe CS (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign). - Adequate working knowledge of Mac Operating System. - Ability to use integration programs which link text programs with graphic programs. - Qualified and proven language translation skills between Italian and English, and at least one other major European language. - Ability to work in a Windows-based environment using desktop (or laptop) PCs. - Ability to operate (if required) a multi-production printing machine (Risograph type) either in stand-alone or direct interface configuration (between computer and printer). - Adaptability - flexibility - Self-confidence - To be a team player - To be problem-solving oriented |
Responsibilities |
1. Ensure all daily information for each day's programme is updated, with the supervision of the ITV Coordinator, and uploaded into the TV system before printing the Ship's Daily Program for the following day. 2. With the assistance of the ITV Coordinator, ensure all information relating to the Daily Activity, Excursions, Promotions, and Services is translated in due time for transmission into the principal languages of passengers as defined on the ITV Menu. These languages are: - Italian - English - German - French - Spanish - Portuguese 3. Prepare all graphics material for publicity/advertising for the OBR Manager, using all text and graphic resources approved by MSC. The same text has to be inserted into the ITV System in the appropriate section. 4. Ensure that all dates, times, venues, and descriptions in all Daily Programs and Daily Specials are identical, and that no program favors any nationality of Passengers because of special layout or design, before uploading the information into the ITV system. 5. Use standard graphic resources and standard text, registered in the Daily Program and Daily Specials Database, approved by the Company. Never vary these graphics or text standards in any way. 6. On request, provide the list of promotional messages sent through the ITV system and previously received from the OBR Coordinator at the beginning of every cruise. 7. Support the ITV Coordinator in managing the ITV contents. 8. Support on a daily basis the Program Publisher Host-Hostess in the preparation of the Daily Program, Daily Special, and cross-checks. 9. Maintain the integrity of computer and any software used in conjunction with the preparation of the Daily Program and Daily Specials. 10. Maintain exclusive access to the Program-ITV Host-Hostess computer. 11. Ensure that no “foreign" or illegal software is installed or downloaded onto the computer's hard drive. 12. Train if required the new personnel to work in this position. 13. According to performance skills assessment and if all relevant skills are acquired, the Program-ITV Host/ess will be given the possibility to pursue a career path towards eventually becoming a Cruise Program Administrator.
