JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Basics The Lounge Butler ensures the food & beverage service in the Top Sail lounge and One Pool. Within their role as ambassador of the Yacht Club brand, they handle the service and appropriate guest engagement. They may also be asked to perform other tasks in the Yacht Club such disembarkation and embarkation. They will also be familiar with our butler service.
Experience Required Minimum of three contracts in bar waiter or restaurant waiter position - preferably in a luxury hotel or luxury cruise ship.

    - Assist butlers whenever required.
    - Lounge butlers will also provide assistance to the terminal operation.

    **Lounge Butlers are to provide friendly service to Guests as follows:**

    - **Quick Service:** Provide courteous, quick, and professional service with a smile at all times and to all customers.
    - **Greeting Guests:** Greet Guests professionally with discreet courtesy in their language. Greet Guests returning for the second, third time or more with their names and, where applicable, using their titles (Doctor, Captain, Mr. etc).
    - **Discretion:** Be discreet and low-key at all times.
    - **Setup:** Set up for any breakfast, lunch, or dinner in the Topsail Lounge.
    - **Excursions:** Accompany Guests on excursions if requested.
    - **Room Service:** Assist in preparing room service, delivery, table setup, and meal service.
    - **Refreshments:** Assist in serving refreshments at any time during the day or night (depending on shift).
    - **Food Service:** Assist in serving food at breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
    - **Beverages:** Assist in serving wine, water, liquors, and champagne at lunch and dinner.
    - **Private Parties:** Assist the Butler during a private party in a suite or MSC Yacht Club area.
    - **Mini Bar:** Replenish the mini bar, water, coffee (when available) with each service.
    - **Cabin Services:** Responsible for introducing the cabin services to the guests upon embarkation.
    - **Suite Setup:** After adequate training, be able to prepare and set up a suite accordingly and, if needed, accompany guests from/to the terminal.
    - **Clean-up:** Remove any used crockery, flatware, glassware from cabins for delivery to the room service pantry for washing.
    - **Sanitation:** Understand sanitation and foodborne illness – and how to avoid it.
    - **Complaints:** Avoid complaints, and if there is one, immediately inform the Butler or Head Butler.
    - **Minimize Delays:** Take all steps to ensure Guests are not kept waiting unreasonably for service in any area of the assigned bar and lounge.
    - **Cleaning Procedures:** Comply with standard procedures relating to cleanliness, setups, furniture, snacks, menus, appropriate room, and door signs.
    - **Set-up:** Constantly check the assigned bar and lounge areas for cleanliness and furniture repairs or replacements.
    - **Garnishes:** Comply with MSC Yacht Club standards at all times.
    - **Clean Tables and Area:** Ensure all bar tables and chairs are clean before and after Guests arrive and leave.
    - **Menu Knowledge:** Know immediately all bars, mixed drinks, and other bar items specified in the bar list.
