  • Function as assistant emcee for onboard events in various venues, orchestrating an inviting and energetic atmosphere, while requiring microphone use and stage presence.
  • Provide support to the Club Host and/or Entertainment Hosts.
  • Interact with Guests of all ages.
  • Seek out Guest contact while displaying boundless amounts of energy, outgoing attitude, enthusiasm, and self-motivation.
  • Learn, follow and perform scripted material and basic choreography.
Job Responsibilities
  • Execute selling of Bingo cards, using up-selling techniques.
  • Perform meet and greet functions in the lobby/atrium during Guest embarkation and disembarkation.
  • Perform meet and greet functions in front of Walt Disney Theatre at the start and conclusion of events within the theatre; provide help to Guests needing special assistance, as needed; assist with 'show stops' if necessary.
  • Assist in recreational activities on Castaway Cay as scheduled; Activities may include, but are not limited to: acting as the host at island game pavilion, assisting with boat, snorkel, bicycle, float or tube rentals, snorkel instruction, and beach clean-up.
  • Assist in maintaining appropriate Guest flow in all areas onboard, informing Guests of other onboard activities to ensure adequate Guest participation.
  • Assist in facilitation of dance parties; teach Guests various line dances.
  • Execute selling of Port Adventures to Guests – meet Guests at assigned debark venue, spiel important excursion information, collect tickets and waivers and escort Guests to meet appropriate vendor.
  • Escort Guest on Port Adventures as the Disney quality representative, as scheduled.
  • Maintain stock and assist in distribution of departmental supplies.
  • Assist in the facilitation children's activities or Crew events, as needed.
  • Follow scripts, but also ad lib, as necessary.
  • Perform abbreviated shows as necessary based on weather conditions, safety issues, and/or Entertainment Management decisions.
  • Report costume, technical, and maintenance needs.

Required/Desired: Experience,Qualifications, Education, Licenses

  • Minimum one year experience in a public relations, entertainment, guest services, resort/recreational, or related field.
  • Minimum one year experience working within a position that demonstrates hosting experience, stage experience and public speaking skills.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication and organizational skills.
  • Relates well to audiences of all ages and demographics while offering a passion for engaging an audience in entertaining program and event.
  • Strong microphone skills, team skills, detailed, flexible, and committed to Guest Satisfaction.
  • Strong aptitude to learn dance routines and to dance in a 'club' style setting.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy boxes (i.e. recreational equipment).
  • Experience with sound/DJ equipment a plus.
  • Maintain Disney Character Integrity.
  • Maintain performance quality and the ability to perform rehearsed roles.
  • Ability to perform in environments that have pyrotechnics, chemical smoke, haze, fog, dry ice, and other special effects.
