JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION SUMMARY Is responsible to provide friendly and professional service in all food service outlets (both A La Carte and Buffet), anticipating and fulfilling guest's needs at all times.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 1. To perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Pullmantur Cruise's Pillars of Safety, Service and Style, ISM and SQM standards, and environmental regulations.

2. Has a thorough understanding of Time and Attendance procedures, shipboard training, and is familiar with contracts, work schedule hours/week, and supporting documentation.

3. Is aware of, and/or acquires the necessary knowledge to comply with the ship's standard operation, in order to assist guests and crewmembers with inquiries.

4. Attends meetings, training activities, courses, and all other work-related activities as required.

5. Performs related duties as required. This position description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by the shipboard employee occupying this position. Shipboard employees will be required to perform any other job-related duties assigned by their supervisor or management.

6. Must be knowledgeable about all menu items and ingredients and have sufficient knowledge to answer guests' questions. Goes out of his way to promote the product to be served.

7. Is fully responsible for the satisfaction of guests on his station and has the ability to coordinate service with his Waiter, following service procedures and ensuring full guest satisfaction.

8. Responsible for explaining the menu to guests and follows all procedures to ensure wine sales, as well as proper control of the “All Inclusive" wines.

9. Responsible for following the service procedures laid out by the Restaurant Management team and acknowledges them by signing training forms.

10. Responsible for checking if guests are pleased with the food and service and amends service when necessary to fully satisfy guests.

11. Has sufficient knowledge to inform guests about the overall cruise product and has a good knowledge of the ship.

12. Must report for duty at assigned times following his Superior's instructions in line with the company rules and regulations.

13. Will be required to perform side jobs as per the Restaurant Manager schedule.

14. Responsible for keeping his working section clean and tidy and follows all sanitation regulations.

15. Is responsible for properly logging his working hours in the Weekly Time Card, bearing in mind breaks taken and correct start and finish times.

16. When assigned to Buffet duty or open deck service, goes out of his way to follow the company's service standards.

17. At times such as dry docks or lay-up periods (or any other time deemed by ship's management), may be assigned to perform other tasks such as working in the messes or carrying out any other duty in the hotel division.

18. Is responsible for observing the company's standards of grooming at all times.

19. Observes all other ship rules and regulations, including those related to safety.

20. Must have the physical ability to carry up to 20 plates, which can weigh up to 15 - 20 kilos.

21. May also be assigned to perform cleaning duties inside the restaurant department.

QUALIFICATIONS - Certificates of completion of training programs in the Food and Beverage area, including sanitation.

- Minimum 2 years' experience in an Assistant Waiter/Runner position in a 3-star hotel ashore or similar experience onboard.

- Sanitation and Environmental knowledge.

- Basic computer knowledge.

- Required to speak, read, and write in English at an Intermediate level to understand and interpret written procedures. This includes the ability to give and receive instructions in written and verbal forms.
